Several years ago, while hiking in the high alpine, I came across a lovely pink flower called Magenta Paintbrush. I really wanted to paint it in watercolour, and finally paired it with the perfect partner - the montane meadow dwelling Calliope Hummingbird, whose deep, rose pink throat feathers glow as brightly as the blooms upon which it feeds!
